In this article:
Before you begin
Collect key data from Writer to share with Entra, as explained here.
Configure SSO in Entra
Create Writer SAML app
Go to the Enterprise applications portal in Entra, select Create a new application.
Select Create your own application. Then give it a name, and select Integrate any other application you don’t find in the gallery (Non-gallery) for the other question. Select Create.
Configure Writer SAML app
Go to the Single sign-on tab and select the SAML
method.
Then select Edit and add the below values to the Basic SAML Configuration section:
Identifier (Entity ID): app.writer.com
Reply URL (ACS URL): https://app.writer.com/api/access/saml
Review attributes (optional)
You can use the default user attributes, or edit them by selecting Edit. If you edit your user attributes, emailaddress or another form of the email profile attribute must be defined and be passed to Writer.
Please note that the Unique User Identifier
attribute must match the email address associated with your user’s Writer accounts.
Download Metadata XML
Go to the Single sign-on tab and scroll down to the SAML Signing Certificate section, and download the Federation Metadata XML
, which you can then upload to Writer.
Finish the SAML SSO setup process
