App guide: Video summaries

The video summaries app makes it easy to transform videos into derivative content quickly.

How to use the video summaries app

From the Dashboard, select All apps to open up the App Library. Search for "video summaries" to highlight it.

Select Preview to understand what the image analyzer app needs for inputs, and what kind of outputs it can produce. Select Open to open the app.


Add your video

There are three different ways to upload a video:

1) The video summaries app works with videos hosted on Vimeo or YouTube with a transcript. Note that Paste URL will not work for videos without a transcript.

2) Paste the transcript of a video.

3) Upload an .srt file or .txt file containing the captions or transcript for a video.

There is no minimum video length – use the video summaries app for short or long videos!

Select a voice profile

Want to generate content in one of your selected voice profiles?

Under the Voice category, select the voice profile you'd like to apply to the outputs generated by the video summaries app.

When you're ready to generate content, select Generate text. The video summaries app will produce a one paragraph description, a set of bulleted takeaways, a LinkedIn post, an X post, and an Instagram post.

What kinds of videos can I summarize?

  • Videos hosted on YouTube or Vimeo with a transcript
  • Short or long videos – there's no minimum length requirement!
  • Non-English videos in the languages we support (with a transcript)
