What are credits?

Credits are WRITER's unified consumption model that powers all AI capabilities across the platform. credits provide a single, transparent way to access everything WRITER offers.

Credits are used across all surfaces of WRITER, including:

  • WRITER Agent
  • Pre-built agents
  • Playbooks
  • API integrations
  • AI Studio
  • And all other WRITER features

Credits are maintained as a dollar balance on your organization's account, making it easy to track and understand your usage in straightforward dollar terms.

How credits work

Your WRITER purchase will come with an initial credit package. Additional credits may also be purchased separately. These credits are then used as your team works with WRITER's AI capabilities. Usage automatically draws from your organization's credit pool, ensuring seamless access across your team.

Credit allocation

When you purchase WRITER you’ll receive credits that contribute to your organization's shared pool.

  • Credits pool together at the organization level
  • Can be used by any user in your organization
  • Available for embedded applications where the end user may not be a named WRITER user
  • Provide maximum flexibility for team collaboration

Lite users

Lite users receive a monthly credit allocation designed for individual use.

Important details about Lite user credits:

  • Each Lite user receives a set amount of credits per month
  • Credits are specific to that individual user and cannot be shared
  • Lite users do not have access to the organization's pooled credits
  • Credits reset on the first day of each month
  • Unused credits do not carry over to the next month

💡 Tip: If Lite users find they need more credits or want access to the shared organizational pool, consider upgrading them to Pro users for enhanced flexibility and collaboration.

Credit expiration

Understanding when credits expire helps you plan usage effectively and maximize the value of your investment.

Platform credits

Credits that come with your platform purchase and Pro user seats expire and reset at the end of every year of your contract term.

Lite user credits

Lite user credits follow a different expiration schedule:

  • Credits expire on the last day of each month
  • New credits are provided on the first day of the following month
  • This monthly reset ensures Lite users have fresh credits each month

⚠️ Important: Plan your usage to take full advantage of available credits before they expire. Credits do not roll over beyond their expiration date.

Purchasing additional credits

If your organization needs more credits during your contract term, you have flexible options for purchasing them.

Purchase options
