How to use the Writer AI Academy

How to access the Writer AI Academy

You must have access to a paid or trial Writer account to access most AI Academy content.

The first time you enroll in the Writer AI Academy, we'll create a user account for you, so you'll never need to create another username and password. To enroll, go to the Learning Center>Writer Academy tab or click here, then select Enroll.

Any time you visit this tab in the future, the button will read Open instead of Enroll.

Logging into the Writer AI Academy

Once you've completed your initial enrollment, you'll be able to log back into the Academy at any time using your Writer account. Select the Sign in button at the top right corner, and you'll be directed back into Writer to sign into your Writer account.

Using the Writer AI Academy

Whenever you log in, you'll be dropped into your Dashboard view:

At the top of the page, you'll see easy access to content you've engaged with already:

My Learning - In-progress content. Pick up where you left off by selecting Continue next to a course name.
Events - Scheduled events for which you've registered.
Completed - Courses you've completed, including self-paced learning, videos, micro-courses, and more.
Certifications - Certificates you've earned. Here, you'll be able to download your certificate of completion or share it directly to LinkedIn.

Below the Jump back in section, you'll see shortcuts to our Certifications, Courses, Quick tips, and our Full catalog. You'll also see a selection of curated content, including brand new content and featured content.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create a new username and password for the Writer AI Academy?

No! Once you're logged into the regular Writer app, you can use this link (or navigate to Learning Center>Writer Academy) to enroll using your Writer account.

Do I have to have a Writer account to access the Writer AI Academy?

Generally, yes. There is a limited amount of ungated content available to the general public. Most Writer AI Academy content is gated to users with access to a Writer environment.

Can I access the Writer AI Academy if I'm in the middle of a trial?

Yes! We strongly encourage using the Academy to get the most out of your trial period. The enrollment process is exactly the same. As long as you have access to a trial environment, you have access to the Academy.

I passed my certification! How can I share my achievement on LinkedIn?

Go to your Dashboard. At the top of the screen, select the Certifications tab. Any completed certifications will be listed here. Select View Certificate to download the certificate of completion. Select Add to profile to add your certificate to your LinkedIn profile.

I finished a course but the Writer AI Academy says I didn't! What's going on?

Double check that you've actually accessed all of the required content. In the top left corner, you'll see the completion bar letting you know how much required content you've completed. Note that optional content does not count towards/against this percentage.

If the required content is less than 100%, review the individual lessons to see whether there's anything you've missed. When a lesson is complete, the circle will be filled in and blue. When a lesson is only partially complete, the circle will be half-filled and orange. When the lesson is incomplete, the circle won't be filled in at all.

Note: Most videos require at least a partial viewing before they'll be marked as complete!

What's the URL of the Writer AI Academy?

The Writer AI Academy is located at https://academy.writer.com/ – just remember, you'll need to access the Academy via this link when you first enroll. This allows us to create a one-click user profile for you, so you can use your Writer login without creating a separate username and password.
